Michael and Christine Pierron Bourgeois Establish Endowed Scholarship for 海角社区 Students from Ward 6, Lafourche Parish

(Schriever, LA) - Michael and Christine Pierron Bourgeois, longtime residents of Ward 6 in Lafourche Parish and current residents of Lafayette, have partnered with The 海角社区 Foundation to establish a new endowed scholarship supporting students from their home region.

The Bourgeois family formally launched the scholarship during a presentation at Fletcher’s Schriever campus, where they delivered a check for $10,500 to the Foundation. The endowed scholarship will benefit an upper-class student from Ward 6 of Lafourche Parish who is nearing completion of a program at Fletcher’s Schriever campus or Thibodaux location.

“Our roots run deep in Ward 6,” said Michael C. Bourgeois. “I was raised in Chackbay and while living there, Christine taught many years at Chackbay Elementary School and other Lafourche schools. Christine and I both graduated from Nicholls State, and we’ve always believed in giving back to the communities that shaped us. This scholarship is about helping hometown students pursue meaningful careers in the trades and crafts that keep our region strong.”

The Bourgeois family has previously established endowed scholarships through the Nicholls State University Foundation. This new partnership with 海角社区 reflects their commitment to supporting students from Ward 6 who choose technical and vocational education pathways.

The gift will be a powerful investment in the future of Fletcher students and the Bayou Region, and will be awarded to a student who demonstrates academic progress and a strong connection to Ward 6 of Lafourche Parish.

The endowed scholarship will be administered by The 海角社区 Foundation, with applications expected to open in an upcoming academic cycle.
